「13日の金曜日」のゲーム化プロジェクトがKickstarterで目標金額を達成。リリースに向けてスタートを切る

　ホラー映画の代名詞的シリーズ「13日の金曜日」をモチーフにしたゲームタイトル「Friday the 13th: The Game」（PC / PlayStation 4 / Xbox One）。本作の開発資金を公募するKickstarterプロジェクト（関連記事）が初期ゴールである70万ドルを達成し，2016年10月のリリースへ向けてスタートを切った。


　Friday the 13th: The Gameは，プレイヤー1人が凶暴な殺人鬼・ジェイソンとなり，ほかのプレイヤー達は制限時間までジェイソンから逃げ回るという，ユニークなゲームシステムが楽しげな非対称型オンラインアクションゲームだ。本稿執筆時点で1万1000人におよぶバッカーから75万ドルほどの開発費を獲得。Gun Mediaと共に本作を共同開発するIllFonicは，同スタジオを紹介するビハインド・ザ・シーン映像を公開したりしている。


　プロジェクトの期限は，北米時間の明日（11月13日）夕刻までとなっており，現在はフィニッシュムーブ追加などが用意されたストレッチゴールを少しずつ達成している状況。ラストスパートで115万ドルに到達できれば，サマーキャンプの係員として何度もジェイソンと対決してきた，トミー・ジャーヴィスもプレイアブルキャラクターとして使えるようにもなる。
　Friday the 13th: The Gameは，現在ブームとなっているゲーム実況でも人気を獲得しそうな新作ホラーゲームである。今後の動向に注目しておきたいところだ。
