　ゲームイベント「The Game Awards 2021」のノミネート作品が発表された。
　2021年11月12日に掲載した記事でお伝えしたように，今年で8回めを迎える「The Game Awards」は，さまざまなカテゴリごとに，優れたゲームタイトルやeスポーツチーム，イベントなどを顕彰するイベントで，日本時間の12月10日にカリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスのMicrosoft Theaterで幕を開ける。

DEATHLOOP AND RATCHET & CLANK: RIFT APART LEAD NOMINATIONS FOR THE GAME AWARDS 2021

　発表によれば，オンラインで開催された昨年の「The Game Awards 2020」は，前年比84％増となる約8300万の視聴を獲得したという（リンク）。今年は授賞式のほか，恒例のオーケストラの演奏が復活し，有名人のゲストなども登場するといった大規模イベントとして開催され，さまざまなプラットフォームでイベントの無料配信も実施される予定になっている。詳細については，追って発表されるとのこと。


　授賞式のメインとなる「Game of the Year」には，「DEATHLOOP」「It Takes Two」「メトロイド ドレッド」「Psychonauts 2」「ラチェット＆クランク パラレル・トラブル」「バイオハザード　ヴィレッジ」の6タイトルがノミネートされた。ちなみに，昨年の「Game of the Year」にはNaughty Dogの「The Last of Us Part II」が選ばれている（関連記事）。
　最も多くノミネートされたパブリッシャは（Bethesda Softworksを含む）Xbox Game Studiosで20タイトル。そして，ソニー・インタラクティブエンタテインメントの11タイトル，スクウェア・エニックスとElectronic Artsの10タイトルと続いている。
