壇上に立った坂口氏は，「生涯功労賞をもらうなんて，なんだか引退したみたいです」と冗談を言いながらも，「まだまだ現役なので，皆さんと一緒に素晴らしいゲームを作り続けていきたい」と力強くコメントし，来場者から万雷の拍手を贈られていた。
