吸血鬼が蠢く夜のニューヨークを描くアドベンチャー「Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York」のPC版がリリース

　ポーランドのDraw Distanceが，テーブルトークRPG「ヴァンパイア:ザ・マスカレード」のルールセット最新版を原作にしたアドベンチャーゲーム，「Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York」のPC版をリリースした。すでに発表されているNintendo Switch版は2020年第1四半期の発売が予定されているほか，新たにPlayStation 4とXbox Oneの対応が明らかになっている。


　ゲーム化にあたってアクションRPGが選ばれることの多かった「ヴァンパイア:ザ・マスカレード」だが，今回の「Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York」は，プレイヤーの選択によってストーリーがさまざまに変化するビジュアルノベル風の，いわゆるナラティブアドベンチャーがゲームシステムとして選ばれている。
　現代のニューヨークを牛耳る吸血鬼の最大勢力カマリリャ（Camarilla）に対して反旗を翻したグループ（Anarhs）の抗争が描かれるという。プレイヤーは何人かのキャラクターを選んで，コートリー（血盟）と呼ばれるグループを作っていくことになるという。


　ゲームは，コアなTRPGファンだけでなく，幅広い層に理解しやすいように制作されたとのことで，「ヴァンパイア: ザ・マスカレード」の世界にあまり詳しくないゲーマーでも楽しめそうだ。PC版はSteamとGoG.comで，現在10％オフで販売されているが，日本語化されていないのが残念なところ。続報に期待にしたい。
