連なる円状の土地を1つずつ制服しよう。カジュアルRTSの続編「Circle Empires 2」，配信開始。ユニットのカスタマイズ，マルチプレイが可能に

　Iceberg Interactiveは，エストニアのLuminousが開発するRTS「Circle Empires 2」の配信をSteamで開始した。

　「Circle Empires 2」は，2018年にリリースされたRTS「Circle Empires」の続編だ。円形の土地がいくつも連なるファンタジー世界で，敵が構える土地を1つずつ攻略していくストラテジーゲームとなる。土地を手に入れ，資源を獲得したら，新しいユニットを生産して軍隊の補充を行いながら，隣の土地を攻略する流れで進めていく。


　土地は，資源や野生生物，敵が異それぞれ異なる。上下左右のどの土地から攻略するかはプレイヤー次第で，それによりゲームの行く末も大きく変わるなど，ランダム性のあるゲームシステムで中毒性も高い。


　本作には，剣士，弓兵，魔術師，ネクロマンサーなど，それぞれユニークなスキルや能力を持つユニットが登場する。これらのユニットは，新機能「ユニットデザイナー」で，ボディタイプ，武器，アーマーの3つを組み合わせて，オリジナルのユニットを作れる。
　マウントの要素も加わり，小型の歩兵ユニットを馬や大蛇のような大型ユニットに乗せられる。


　「Circle Empires 2」は，2人で協力/対戦プレイが可能なマルチプレイモードを実装するなど，前作以上にじっくり楽しめるゲームになっている。日本語に対応しているのもうれしいところだ。
　Steamでは，体験版を配信中なので，気になる人は遊んでみるといいだろう。また，15％オフになるリリース記念セールも2026年2月24日まで行われている。
