シヴィライゼーションの最新作がコンシューマに。サイバーフロント「シヴィライゼーション レボリューション」を，12月11日に発売

　サイバーフロントは，ターン制ストラテジー「シヴィライゼーション レボリューション」を，2008年12月11日に発売すると発表した。対応機種は，プレイステーション 3，Xbox 360，ニンテンドーDS。価格は，プレイステーション 3とXbox 360版が8190円（税込），ニンテンドーDS版が5800円（税込）だ。

ニンテンドーDS版

　シヴィライゼーション レボリューションは，欧米で発売された「Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution」の日本語版で，Civilizationシリーズの最新作だ。いままでのCivilizationシリーズは，PCでの発売を念頭に開発されていたが，本作はコンシューマ機用にデザインされており，ゲームパッドで操作することを前提に作られている。

　ゲームの基本部分はCivilizationシリーズの流れを汲んでおり，他文明と競合しながら自文明を発展させ，勝利条件を達成していく。本作でプレイヤーが選択できる文明は16種類で，それぞれリーダーが用意されている。ちなみに，日本のリーダーは徳川家康だ。


　従来作と比べると，さまざまな部分が簡略化されており，それに伴いプレイ時間が短縮され，1回3〜4時間で終わるという。また，難度は，酋長/将軍/国王/皇帝/天帝の5段階があり，酋長レベルがチュートリアルに該当し，Civilizationシリーズを初めて遊ぶ人はゲームの基本を学べるのだ。


　オンライン対戦も可能で，以下の3モードが用意されている。なお，いずれのモードも1時間ほどで決着がつくという。

• Head-to-Head　
プレイヤー2名とCPUが操作する二つの文明が対戦

• Free for All
プレイヤー4名にCPUの文明を一つを加えた乱戦モード

• Teams
2名のプレイヤーで構成された2チームが対戦

　プレイステーション 3版とXbox 360版には，ゲーム内に登場する人物，テクノロジー，建造物などを，映像や絵などを交えて説明してくれる「Civilopedia」がある。ゲーム内での効果についても紹介されているので，攻略にも役立つだろう。

　本作が発売される前に，E3 Media & Business Summit 2007で取材した記事には，実際にプレイした様子をレポートしてある。詳細を確認しつつ12月11日を待とう。
