「Fallout 4」の新規スクリーンショット9点公開。ローンチに先がけてコンパニオンアプリ「Fallout Pip-Boy」が配信開始

　Bethesda Softworksは，海外で2015年11月10日に発売を予定しているRPG「Fallout 4」（PC/PlayStation 4/Xbox One）の新規スクリーンショット9点を同社公式サイトで公開した。


　今回公開されたスクリーンショットでは，「Fallout 4」の舞台となるボストンの街並みが描かれている。本作のグラフィックス表現はNVIDIAの技術協力を得て，「god rays」と呼ばれる光筋（ボリューメトリックライト）の表現を実現しているとのことで，同じロケーションでも時間経過によって表情が変わる様子も見て取れる。


　また，発売に先がけてコンパニオンアプリ「Fallout Pip-Boy」の配信がApp StoreとGoogle Playで始まっている。このアプリはゲーム内のステータスやマップなどのデータにアクセスできるというもので，限定版「Pip-Boyエディション」に同梱される「Pip-Boy」のレプリカがあれば，スマートフォンを装着して実際にインタフェースを表示することも可能だ（関連記事）。もちろん，現時点ではゲームとの連動はできないものの，ミニゲームは楽しめる。
　日本語版「Fallout 4」の発売は，まだ1か月以上先（12月17日）ではあるが，コンパニオンアプリではやる気持ちを抑えておこう。
