お気に入りのコンパクトカーで街中を疾走。「GTI Club ワールド シティ レース」が本日発売

　KONAMIは，新作レーシングゲーム「GTI Club ワールド シティ レース」を本日（2月25日）発売した。対応プラットフォームはWiiおよびPSPで，価格はそれぞれ4980円/3800円（税込）となっている。また，PSP版はダウンロード版のみの販売となる。

　本作には，FIATやVOLKSWAGENといった，世界的にも知名度の高い16種のコンパクトカーが実名で登場する。これは余談だが，アスファルトがタイヤを切りつけながら，暗闇を走り抜ける，ハードボイルドアニメの主人公が乗り回し，日本でも根強い人気のあるMorris Mini Cooper S 1275ccもこの中に含まれている。

　コンパクトカーだけが登場するというのが本作のポイント。フランスやイギリスなどの市街地を舞台に，その小さな車体を生かし，サッカースタジアムに突っ込んだり，地下鉄に進入したりとはちゃめちゃな走りを堪能できる。ときには，爆弾を持った車との鬼ごっこや，トマトのぶつけ合いが行われることもあるとか。


　またレースの種類も，ただ走って1番を目指すといったものではなく，渋滞する道路の抜け道レースや，賞品争奪レースなどさまざまなものが用意されている。

　さらに，車のカスタマイズ機能も充実しており，パーツの変更はもちろん，カラーリングも思いのまま。自分だけの愛車を作ってレースに参加できるのだ。加えて，3月11日より順次「ダウンロード限定ドレスアップパターン」が配信され，カスタマイズのバリエーションは一層増えていく。

配信開始日時以降にインターネットに接続して「ランキング」に参加すると、「ダウンロード限定ドレスアップパターン」が入手できます。なお、当該の車種を入手し、既に「マイガレージ」に追加されていることが条件となります。
