「WoW：Wrath of the Lich King」，発売開始から24時間で280万本の売り上げを記録
Blizzard Entertainmentは，「World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King」が，発売後最初の24時間で280万本以上の売り上げを記録したと発表した。
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich Kingは，MMORPG「World of Warcraft」の拡張パック第二弾。2008年11月13日に南北アメリカ，ヨーロッパ，ロシアで，11月14日にオセアニア，東南アジア，11月18日に韓国，台湾，香港，マカオなどで発売された。
発売当日は1万5000のゲーム店で午前零時から販売を開始したり，発売を待ちわびるゲーマーが1000人以上も行列を作った店舗があったりと，文字通りのお祭り騒ぎとなったようだ。
ちなみに，「World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade」は発売後最初の24時間で240万本近くを売り上げたという。この記録も凄いが，今回発売された「World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King」はさらにそれを上回ったことになる。
