本作は，ラグビーの本場，ヨーロッパのラグビーリーグをテーマにしたアクションゲーム。ゲームは，サッカーゲームなどでおなじみのサイドビュー方式となっており，なかなかに遊びやすい。ゲームには95チーム，2000人以上もの選手が収録されており，ちょっとした選手名鑑といった感じだ。また前作と比較するとAIが新しくなっている点もよい。CPUレベルも3段階に調整できるので，最高の難度に設定すれば，かなり歯ごたえのある試合が楽しめるはずだ。
体験版ではイングランド対オーストラリアの試合が体験できる。一試合を通じてプレイ可能だが，選べる作戦（フォーメーション）に制限があるので，効果的に得点するには工夫が必要になるだろう。といっても作戦が少ないからといって，ゲームの面白さが格段に落ちるかというとそうではない。ラグビーゲームの面白さは，いかにパスをつないで敵を振り切るか？ にあるわけで，絶妙なタイミングでパスをつなぎ，トライを決める快感は，体験版でも十分に味わえる。初心者にとっては選べるフォーメーションが少ないほうが，逆に困らなくていいかもしれない。
なおキーボードでは若干プレイしにくいので，できることならパッドを使ってプレイしてもらいたい。（Murayama）
