2003年のECTSアワードは，フランスを基盤にする大手UBI Soft社が，全16賞のうち，PCゲーム部門の大賞と，コンシューマゲーム部門の大賞を含めた5賞を獲得した。
　会場の中央に賑やかなブースを出していただけに，その喜びもひとしおといったところだろう。もっとも，ECTSアワードではヨーロッパで活動する販売会社が権利を保有する，ヨーロッパ内で開発されたゲームが受賞するのが恒例となっており，E3で各賞を独占した「Half-Life 2」の出展があったにも関わらず，大きな存在感を示すことはなかった。
