［E3 2015］「トランスフォーマー」のゲーム最新作はプラチナゲームズが開発。「TRANSFORMERS: DEVASTATION」として今秋リリース
プラチナゲームズはロサンゼルスで開催中のE3 2015において，Activision Publishingから発売される「TRANSFORMERS: DEVASTATION」（PC / PS4 / PS3 / Xbox One / Xbox 360）で開発を担当していると発表した。発売日は2015年秋，価格は未定とのこと。なお，現時点において日本国内での発売は予定されていない。
本作は，コミックやトイなどで人気のトランスフォーマー（以下，TF）シリーズを原作としたアクションゲーム。公開されたアナウンストレーラーと公式サイトのイメージビジュアルでは，おなじみのオプティマス・プライムやメガトロンたち，そしてデバスターの姿を確認できる。副題に「DEVASTATION」とあることからすると，本作ではデバスターがキーキャラクターとなるのだろうか？
なお，北米向けのPlayStation.Blogでは，ディレクターを務める齋藤健治氏からのメッセージが掲載された。こちらでは齋藤氏が幼いころからTFのファンであったことや，「ビークル形態で加速し，ロボット形態にトランスフォームしてドロップキックを繰り出す」というTFならではのアクションなどについて言及されている。また，プレイヤーはオプティマス・プライム，バンブルビー，サイドスワイプ，ホイールジャック，グリムロックを操作キャラクターとして選択可能だという。
近年は実写映画をもとにしたシリーズやオリジナルシナリオの「War for Cybertron」シリーズがメインとなっていたTFゲームだが，それらから一転して初代カートゥーン風のテイストとなった本作。プラチナゲームズの描く新たなTFユニバースに期待しよう。
