EA SPORTSが「FIFA 11」の新機能「Creation Center」を発表。選手やチームを制作し，ネットで仲間と交換可能に

　欧米では10月に発売される予定の「FIFA 11」（PC/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360/Wii/PlayStation 2/Nintendo DS/PSP）だが，制作/販売を行うEA SPORTSは，ゲームの目玉の一つとなる新機能「Creation Center」の情報を公開した。
　それによると，Creation Centerはネット向けのアプリケーションの1種で，プレイヤーがそれを使用することで，選手やチーム，あるいはユニフォームなどを制作してネット上に公開し，それを自分のゲームにダウンロードしたりすることができる。もちろん，オンラインで対戦をしたり，トーナメントに参加したりすることも，Creation Centerを介して簡単に行える。
　さらに，選手の個性や特技のカスタマイズ，チーム戦略といったマネジメントもできるほか，エンブレムのデザインといった，かなり手の込んだことも可能だ。

　もっとも，このCreation Centerの公式サイトは今のところ公開されておらず，北米でFIFA 11がリリースされる9月28日（ヨーロッパでは10月1日）に合わせてオープンされる予定だ。また，現段階でCreation Centerに対応しているのは，PlayStation 3版とXbox 360版のみとなっている。

　4年に一度のワールドカップイヤーということもあってか，FIFA 11にはこれ以外にさまざまな新要素が加えられている。例えば，プレイヤーの情報を36種類のAttribute（アトリビュート＝特質，特性）と57種類のTrait（トレート＝特徴）に細分化し，それを組み合わせることでプレイヤーの個性を引き立たせる「Personalize＋」システムも魅力的だ。
　プレイヤーが制作したサウンドトラックを，ゲーム前やハーフタイムなどに自分専用の応援歌として流したり，選手のコンディション，ピッチの状態などによってパスの精度が異なってくるなど，従来作とはかなりテイストの異なるゲームになりそうだ。
