そりゃないでしょうという声も聞こえそう。Take-Two，「BioShock 2」「Max Payne 3」など，しめて4タイトルの発売を2010年会計年度へ延期

　北米のパブリッシャであるTake-Two Interactiveは，海外時間の2009年7月13日に行われた投資家向け説明会で，「BioShock 2」（PC/PLAYSTATION 3/Xbox 360）の発売日をこれまでの2009会計年度の第4四半期から，2010会計年度へ延期したと発表した。さらに，Max Payneシリーズの最新作である「Max Payne 3」（PC/PLAYSTATION 3/Xbox 360）も2010会計年度に発売されるとしており，すでに発売延期が伝えられていた「Mafia II」（PC/PLAYSTATION 3/Xbox 360）と「Red Dead Redemption」（PLAYSTATION 3/Xbox 360）（関連記事）に加え，合わせて4タイトルが2010会計年度の発売になったわけだ。

Borderlands

　かくして，いわゆる話題作としてはGearbox Softwareが開発中の「Borderlands」（PC/PLAYSTATION 3/Xbox 360）のみ予定どおりということになり，そりゃないよ！　という声も聞こえてきそうだ。ちなみにTake-Twoの「2010会計年度」は2009年11月〜2010年10月を指すようなので，絶対に来年ということでもないが，もともとBioshock 2は2009年11月3日のリリースが予告されていて，それなのにここでわざわざ言及したことを考えると，やっぱり来年になりそうな予感もする。

Red Dead Redemption

　延期の理由については，さらなる開発の時間をかけるためとされており，たとえ発売時期を延ばすことになっても，完成度の高いタイトルを発売したい意向であるようだ。

　BioShock 2は，2007年に発売された「BioShock」の続編。10数年後の海底都市Raptureが舞台となっており，プレイヤーはなんとビッグダディに扮し，ちょっと大きくなったリトルシスターとともに海底都市からの脱出を図る。また，ビッグシスターという謎のキャラクターも登場し，彼女の存在が物語のキーとなりそうだ。さらに洗練されたグラフィックスやマルチプレイモードの採用なども特徴として挙げられる。

Max Payne 3

　またMax Payne 3は，麻薬組織に家族を殺されたニューヨーク市警の刑事マックス・ペイン（Max Payne）が，単身で復讐に挑む「Max Payne」（2001年），市警に復職したマックスが，再び犯罪組織に立ち向かう続編，「Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne」（2003年）に続くシリーズ第3弾だ。
　ゲームの詳細は今のところ明らかになっていないが，公式サイトでは，少し老けてスキンヘッドになり，ちょっと目つきが悪くなった彼が銃を乱射しているスクリーンショットが掲載されている。舞台もニューヨークから南米に移り，スタイリッシュなシューターだった従来作に比べ，ぐっとワイルドなアクションゲームになりそうだ。
