ズー，「ワールドインコンフリクト日本語版」を4月25日に発売

　東西冷戦時代，アメリカとソ連が実際に戦争をしたら……？　という歴史のifを体験できるRTS「World in Conflict」（開発元：Massive Entertainment）を日本語化した，「ワールドインコンフリクト日本語版」が，4月25日（金）にズーより発売されることとなった。価格は8190円（税込）だ。
　本作の英語版は2007年9月に発売されているが，東京ゲームショウ 2007のレポート記事で日本語版の発売が決まっていることをお知らせしたことがある。そのため，「日本語版が発売されたら遊んでみよう！」と心に決めていた人にとって，待ちに待った朗報ではないだろうか。

　本作に登場する陣営は，アメリカ，ソ連，そしてNATO（北大西洋条約機構）の三つ。シングルミッションは，ソ連軍がアメリカのシアトルに上陸するミッションから，ヨーロッパでの戦いや，アメリカ本土最終防衛までの全14種類が用意されている。
　マルチプレイは，強襲，占領，フロントラインという三種類のマップを使い，最大16人（8人対8人）で対戦可能だ。なおマルチプレイでは，プレイヤーは機甲，航空，歩兵，支援のいずれかの役割を選択することになる。つまり，勝利を目指すためには，ほかのチームメイト達との協力，連携が必須というわけである。
　また，グラフィックスの美しさも特筆もの。DirectX 10にも対応しており，煙や光，影など表現は必見だ。4Gamerには英語版の体験版をUpしてあるので，気になった人はそちらもチェックしてほしい。

　ちなみにズーは，本作の発売日である4月25日に，「サドンストライク3：アームズフォービクトリー日本語版」「インペリアムローマ～ローマ都市建国～日本語版」「タイタンクエストゴールドエディション日本語マニュアル付英語版」「フロントライン：フュエル・オブ・ウォー日本語版」の発売も予定している。すべてを遊び尽くそうと思ったら，ゴールデンウィークの一つや二つでは足りなくなりそうだ。
