【Mac】Aspyrのニュースレター2月号配信，UB化の最新情報など

　Aspyr Mediaは，同社のゲームタイトルの最新情報や，開発裏話などを公開するニュースレターの2月号「Aspyr February 2006 Newsletter」を配信した。
　それによると，Macintoshゲーマー待望のQuakeシリーズ最新作，「Quake 4」の開発は最終段階に入っており，間もなくリリースされる見込みとのこと。なおQuake 4は，最初からUniversal Binary形式で提供される，Aspyrとしては初のタイトルだ。

　Intel製チップを搭載したMac miniも発表され，ゲームソフトのUB化に対する期待はますます高まる一方。Aspyrが2006年にリリースを予定している，「Call of Duty 2」や「Sid Meier's Civilization IV」をはじめとする新作のほとんどが，UB版として提供されるという。また同社は，「The Sims 2」「The Sims 2: University」「The Sims 2: Nightlife」「Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic」「Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy」のUB化作業を進めており，完成し次第パッチをリリースする予定とのことだ。
