「Enemy Territory：Quake Wars」には，ゲーム内広告が登場

　「Enemy Territory: Quake Wars」のデベロッパであるSplash DamageのNeil Postlethwaite氏は，開発者ブログを通じ，本作にゲーム内広告が採用されることを明らかにした。
　それによると，プレイヤーに追加料金の支払いを課すことなく，サーバーのメンテナンスやコミュニティサイトの運営，ゲームのアップデートなどにかかるコストを回収するための手段として，ゲーム内広告の採用を決めたとのこと。

　広告は，コンテナの側面など，ゲームの雰囲気を壊さないような場所にさりげなく配置される予定。世界観を損なうことがないよう，十分に配慮していくという。

　なお同氏は，パブリックβテスト（関連記事）や，製品発売前にリリース予定のデモ版で，実際のゲーム内広告がどのようなものかを確認できるだろうと述べている。（朝倉哲也）
