CGS，「Team Fortress 2」と「Counter-Strike 1.6」でトーナメントを開催
Championship Gaming Series（CGS）は，「Team Fortress 2」と「Counter-Strike 1.6」の2タイトルで，CGSのプロアマ部門を開催すると発表した。
CGSは，北米/南米/ヨーロッパ/アジア/オーストラリアなど世界規模のオンラインゲームトーナメントを開催している団体。PCの「Counter-Strike Source」「FIFA 08」「World of Warcraft」の3タイトルに加え，Xbox 360の「Dead or Alive 4」「Forza Motorsport 2」を合わせた計5タイトルが公式トーナメントゲームとなっている。
大会は2008年8月から北米とヨーロッパにおいてオンラインで行われ，両地域でタイトルごとに2名が選出される。この2名は，賞金総額5万ドル（約520万円）以上の大会であるthe CGS 2009 North America Combineに招待され，そこで雌雄を決することになる。なお，トーナメントの登録受付は，2008年7月に開始される予定だ。
