World Cyber Gamesの北米決勝は，E for All会場で

　2008年のWorld Cyber Games北米地区予選決勝大会は，10月3日から5日にかけてロサンゼルスで開催されるゲームイベント，E for All Expo会場で行われることが正式に発表された。

　北米地区予選には全米のプロゲーマー200名が集い，ここを勝ち抜いたゲーマーがTeam USAとして，11月5日から9日にかけてドイツで開催される世界大会へ駒を進めることとなる。
　2008年のWorld Cyber Gamesは，PCでは「Warcraft III」「StarCraft」「Counter-Strike」「Need for Speed: Pro Street」など9タイトル，Xbox 360では「Halo 3」「Project Gotham Racing 4」「Guitar Hero III」「Virtua Fighter 5」の4タイトル，モバイルゲームから1タイトルが選ばれ，それぞれのゲームでの世界一を決める戦いが行われる。

　なおWorld Cyber Gamesでは，2010年の世界決勝大会ホスト国の募集を開始した。募集の締め切りは2008年8月22日で，最終決定の発表は2009年5月の予定。
　世界決勝大会のホスト国を募集するという，オリンピックのようなシステムは2002年からスタート。第一回は韓国がホスト国となり，2007年はアメリカがホスト国に選ばれている。
